Metallic Gold Eyes |
The trend for A|W is metallic. On the catwalk, in magazines, in the newspapers and the stores, everyone is wearing and selling metallic stuff including heavily sequined clothing. Recently in the women's magazine there were some metallic eyes to try out and while watching a MakeUpGeek tutorial, Marlena did something that I thought I just had to do. It was so fabulous that I had to share it.
Putting some pigment in the cover, Marlena added a spritz or two of Fix+ to 'foil' the pigment. The method really made the pigment shine when applied. It looked absolutely fab, so I used my Golden Lemon MAC pigment and did the same. I was very pleased with the results so here's a couple pics that I took using my fabulous model.
I primed her lids and lightly feathered MAC's Gorgeous Gold to create a base.
After foiling the pigment, I gently pat it on the lids. It didn't take long to dry.
Afterwards I used NYX's Dark Brown in the crease to soften the harsh line of the pigment and highlighted with MAC's Shroom.
To add some sparkle to the look, I used MAC's Gold pigment that looks a bit like shining dust, which i applied to the outer V.
To make it a bit dramatic I smudged some black eyeliner 3/4 of the way on the lower lashline, 1/4 on the upper lid and some golden lemon pigment from the tear duct to the eyeliner of the lower lashline.
Finishing it off with a touch of black mascara.
I used a lot of aspects of Marlena's look and added a couple tips from magazines.
